old HOME PAGE
Brief: To improve navigation to key areas of SeeAbility's work.
The old home page and the top level navigation of the charity's website didn't link to key areas of the charity's work and user journeys required improvement.
The Charity for Civil Servants

old HOME PAGE
Brief: To create a new home page and improve the responsiveness of the charity's website.
The old home page lacked key information about the charity and required more functionality to highlight current initiatives. The website didn’t resize well when viewed on a range of devices.

WALKING CHALLENGE WEBSITE
Brief: To create a new micro-site for The Walking Challenge, the charity's largest annual fundraising event.
The Walking Challenge was hosted on a generic fundraising platform which wasn't fit for purpose. Users found the interface difficult to use and required a lot of support. This increased the work-load of staff administering The Challenge.

WALKING CHALLENGE RESPONSIVE
The charity's web agency created a new bespoke micro-site for The Walking Challenge. The user journey for participants was more intuitive and tailored to The Challenge's requirements. As a result there were far fewer support requests than in the previous year. The micro-site was owned by the charity, so could be used in future without large overheads.
Intranet relaunch
The Insolvency Service

Brief: To create a new, more user friendly intranet for the Insolvency Service, to help improve internal communication within the organisation.
The Insolvency Service's old intranet was built using an outdated content management system that was no longer supported. The system was not user friendly for editors, so updates were difficult and time-consuming.
There was no content strategy and no systematic monitoring of the content on the intranet. This had led to a lot of content being out of date or unnecessary. Other important content was not on the intranet.
Poor content, search and navigation meant the old intranet did not meet user needs.

As Drupal Editor/Project Manager, I managed the development and launch of the new intranet. This involved working with stakeholders to gather requirements, developing a content strategy, scoping functionality, managing external developers, training and supporting a new intranet editorial community.
The structure and design of the new intranet were developed in response to feedback from users. This led to the inclusion of new features to aid internal communication and give users a customised experience.
The new intranet was built using Drupal.
Website relaunch
Renewableuk

old site
Brief: To create a new content managed site with CRM integration for the UK's largest renewable energy trade association.
RenewableUK's website was static html and only a couple of staff had the skills to keep it up to date. There was no content strategy, so the site had developed in a haphazard manner. This had led to a confusing navigation system and a lot of out-of-date content.
There was also a requirement to integrate the site with RenewableUK's new CRM system, to display membership and event information, and synch with a new members' area.

As Web Manager I was responsible for project managing the development and launch of the new website and CRM. To achieve this, I worked with stakeholders to gather requirements, developed a content strategy, scoped functionality, managed external developers, carried out UA testing and trained site admins to make updates.
Once live, I continued to project manage additions to the site and manage content.
The website was built using a bespoke version of the Preside CMS and a customised Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
The british Trust for ornithology

Brief: To create a new, content managed site to help raise the profile of an ornithological charity.
The website relaunch was part of a wider rebrand to help raise the profile of the charity. The relaunch was also intended to make the site a more effective tool for fundraising, member and volunteer engagement, communication and education.
The old, static HTML website had developed organically. This led to a confusing navigation system and misleading content hierarchy. Only one staff member was able to update the site, so content wasn't changed regularly.

As Communications Manager I was responsible for the site relaunch. This involved working with internal and external stakeholders to define requirements, developing a new information architecture and content strategy, visual redesign, building and testing prototypes, site build, managing migration of content and training admins to make updates. On completion I continued to manage the website.
An important part of the relaunch was the development of a network of internal editors who updated site content.
The new website was built using Drupal 6.
Little Ouse Headwaters Project

Old Site
Brief: To create a new, content managed site for a conservation charity.
The Little Ouse Headwaters Project required a new website that would increase engagement with the local community. They requested a site that could be easily updated by volunteers and could be extended if necessary. They also required a password protected "Trustee Area".

Foresight Ltd required a web presence for their company and a place where they could advertise office space. The site was created using a customised WordPress template and included a gallery displaying offices available for rent.
